IMF raises India’s growth forecast to 6.7% for FY24

The IMF has raised India’s growth projections to 6.5% for the next financial year and 6.7% for the current fiscal year. The government’s projections are higher. IMF chief economist, Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, attributed the upward revision to strong growth driven by a spending push. The WEO highlighted the resilience in domestic demand and India’s position as the fastest growing major economy.
