Recent reports indicate duplicity in some electors’ photo identity card numbers across various regions in India, raising concerns about potential fake voters. This issue stems from a decentralised and manual electoral roll system prior to 2017. The Election Commission is taking steps to rectify duplicate EPIC numbers to ensure each voter retains a unique ID, without affecting voter eligibility.
