The box office collections for Fighter have seen a decline in the last two days. On day 6, the film, headlined by Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, minted Rs 7.75 crore (across all languages), according to a Sacnilk report. With this, Fighter‘s total collection stands at Rs 134.25 crore, the report added. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter also featured Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi in key roles. The movie was jointly backed by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.
On Tuesday, Deepika Padukone’s friend and badminton great PV Sindhu gave a shout-out to Fighter. She shared the film’s poster with the note, “What a movieeee, Hrithik [Roshan] and Deepika just uff, Anil (Kapoor) sir, just timeless,” accompanied by red heart emojis. Soon enough, Deepika reshared the post on her Instagram Stories with a “love you” note.
On Saturday night, the makers organised a special screening for the cast and crew of Fighter. In the picture shared on Instagram, we can spot Hrithik Roshan, Siddharth Anand, Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi. Sharing the fun moment from their movie night, Hrithik wrote, “Fighters Day at the movies. #Fighter.”
In an NDTV review, Saibal Chatterjee gave Fighter 2.5 stars and said, “Hrithik Roshan does his best to lift the film as high as he can. Deepika Padukone is solid and completely at home in a predominantly man’s world. Anil Kapoor’s restraint adds a degree of gravitas to the film. But Fighter could have done with a more fearsome villain.”
He added, “Fighter is entirely about how these four characters get to where they eventually do. The 166-minute film, especially its first half, abounds in dogfights and daring air sorties designed to demonstrate the courage of the fighter pilots. Some of the action is pretty impressive but none of it is likely to have you jump out of your seats in delight. There is little in the film that justifies its 3D format.”
Fighter was released on January 25.
