IPL 2024 full schedule is here; final on May 26

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday released the full schedule of the remaining fixtures of the Indian Premier League (IPL), keeping in mind the forthcoming General Elections in India. The remaining 74 matches will be played only in India, including the playoffs, which are all set to commence from May 21. Meanwhile, the final will be played on May 26 in Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. The Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be hosted in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21 and 22 respectively. Further, the Qualifier 2 and the final will be played in Chennai on May 24 and 26. Notably, Chennai was also the venue for the inaugural game of this season.In the second phase, Delhi Capitals will play all their remaining five home matches in front of their enthusiastic home crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi after opting to play their first two home matches in Visakhapatnam.Punjab Kings, who commenced their season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, will culminate their home campaign in Dharamsala. The scenic stadium offering breathtaking views will be the home to PBKS, hosting two matches on May 5th and 9th against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, respectively.Rajasthan Royals too have opted for a second venue in Guwahati and will play their final two home matches in Assam. They will first host Punjab Kings on May 15th and later play Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19th, which will also mark the conclusion of the league stage of the 17th season of IPL.— StarSportsIndia (@StarSportsIndia) The ongoing tournament began on March 22, where the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings defeated their southern rivals, the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) by 6 wickets.The board had announced the IPL schedule only for the first 21 matches to be played in 17 days. “As in the past, the BCCI will work closely with government and security agencies, following all necessary protocols and advisories related to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in India. Once the dates for the 18th Lok Sabha elections are announced, the Board will review and address any issues pertaining to the schedule of the first two weeks.
