The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a forum comprising 40 farmer unions, called for a Bharat Bandh on Monday against the Centre’s three agriculture laws. Several trains were cancelled, highways and key roads blocked and many thousands stranded for hours as a nationwide 10-hour shutdown disrupted lives across parts of India, particularly in the north.
