The UN climate conference (COP28) negotiating team released an ambitious draft text calling for a global stocktake, tripling renewable energy capacity, and phasing out fossil fuels. India’s concept of Mission LiFE, focused on sustainable lifestyle and consumption, is included. The draft text acknowledges the need for transitioning to sustainable lifestyles and circular economy approaches. The COP28 aims to conclude the first-ever global report card on climate actions, which will guide future pledges in 2025.
