A significant number of Pradesh Congress Committee leaders in Punjab have opposed the idea of an alliance between the Congress party and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The opposition comes after Punjab finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema announced the alliance. Congress members expressed concerns about AAP’s actions in the past, such as targeting Congress members and tarnishing the party’s image. They also highlighted that Congress is already a strong opposition party in Punjab and an alliance with AAP could harm its electoral prospects.
