Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has resigned as captain of the national T20I team ahead of the three-match series against India. This decision follows Sri Lanka’s poor performance in the T20 World Cup, where they didn’t advance past the group stage. Hasaranga, citing the best interests of Sri Lanka Cricket, wants to focus solely on his playing performance. Despite stepping down, he remains committed to the team. Sri Lanka Cricket acknowledged his contributions and will seek a new T20I captain.
