Morocco secured the top spot in Group F beating already-eliminated Canada 2-1 at the Al Thumama Stadium on Thursday courtesy two first-half goals from Hakim Ziyech and Youssef En-Nesyri. With the win, the Moroccan team sealed the last 16 berth, finishing on 7 points two more than runners-up Croatia. It is only the second time Morocco have advanced from the group stages — the first time being in 1986 World Cup, when they became the first African country to qualify for the knockouts.
